Personalized Learning at Montclair

Strategic Resource Use
Learners will advocated for their needs in the physical learning environment and are able to make changes when necessary. Learners and teachers will co-design the learning environment which choice seating and learning tools based on individual needs.
Learners will make strategic choices to use technology to support their learning throughout the class period. They can also use technology to demonstrate learning in alternative ways.
Learner Profiles
Learners and teachers will co-design a learner profile based on how each learner learns best. They will engage in a learner preference inventory to determine their interests, learning environment needs, social needs, cultural perspective, etc. Â Parents will be involved in the creation of the learner profile.
Developing Learner Agency
Teachers will provide opportunities for learner voice and choice in what, where, when, and/or how learning occurs. Students will build skills needed to have ownership of their learning and set personal goals and plans to meet those goals.
